This privacy policy sets out how YVAN will use and protect any information you give when using this website www.yvan.org.uk, attending events, workshop sessions or participating in the creation of a project with us or artists that we commission. YVAN are committed to ensuring your privacy is protected. By accessing this website you are consenting to the way information is collected and used, as described within this Privacy Policy.

What we collect
Every time you log on to our website your IP (Internet Protocol) address registers on our servers.
Your IP address reveals no information other than the number assigned to you. We do not use this technology to get any personal data against your knowledge or free will (i.e. automatically recording email addresses of visitors). Nor do we use it for any purpose other than to help us monitor traffic on our website, or (in case of criminal activity or misuse of our information) to cooperate with law enforcement.

What we do with the information we gather
We require this data in order to provide you with information about news and events and opportunities and in particular for the following reasons:
We send out emails updating you about our news and events taking place as part of YVAN’s activity using the email address you have provided
From time to time we will send out emails about fundraising campaigns relating to our work generally and specific projects. We don’t share your data with third parties as part of this work or use your contact information to undertake activities such as wealth screening etc.
If you apply to be a volunteer with us, take part in our workshops, receive artist development support or present an artistic project we will collect the following data:
name
contact information including email address, mobile number and emergency contact details.
What we do with the information we gather from volunteers
We send out emails to our list of volunteers with opportunities for volunteering.
Volunteers’ contact information will only be shared with the YVAN Director and Communications Manager
If you attend an event and give us your data (name, post code, email, mobile) on paper we will make the intended uses clear at the point of signing. For example, joining our mailing list, joining our database of volunteers, wishing to participate in the creation of a project or individuals interested in attending specific projects.
This data will be transferred to our password protected secure online storage. The hard copies will be photographed and scanned and stored in the same way as evidence of you opting into us holding this data. Only the Director and communications manager will have access to this data. This data will be held until you let us know that you no longer wish to receive information and communications from us.
How we use cookies
