Introducing the Artist Network Log - to grow, amplify and connect the region’s visual arts sector.

Committed to supporting the creative visual arts in the region and promoting collaboration, we have released a developing directory that connects artist networks with one another. It will support Yorkshire and the Humber’s cross-network solidarity and collaboration through the sharing of skills, resources, opportunities and conversations.

In the context of the cost of living crisis, Covid-19 and public cuts to the arts sector, there is an urgency to amplify artist-led assets, build solidarity and connect conversations.

The Artist Network Log includes artist-led collectives, groups, co-ops, self-organised workspaces and studios, grassroots and small organisations – and everything in-between.

This list is always growing and changing to reflect the region's diverse artist-led profile and efforts will be made to represent each network accurately as well as keeping them up-to-date with the constant changes within the region. You can submit a network and join the log!

At the moment we're not able to add commercial businesses or individual artists to the log. We've decided to focus mainly on groups of artists or studios/galleries/networks that are at least 5 people or over, they tend to be cooperatives, non profits, charities or community interest companies.

We acknowledge that it’s challenging to profile network maps in this way, so we are all the more open to changes, critique and comments. This developing directory is now launched into the world, but as a region of artist networks, the log will constantly evolve and grow.

The list currently profiles networks with the following; about, location/nomadic, nature of activity, discipline, website, lead email. This log doesn’t currently map the reach of each of the networks but it is something we are looking into to create a better picture of how networks spread and what other parts of the region and further afield they connect to.

We know networks can be messy and fun – we feel, map and grow with and into them, something we look forward to developing with your networks.
