CVAN report: Why a Visual Arts Data Observatory Matters

CVAN has published a new report: Towards a Data Observatory for the Visual Arts.

The research explores how the visual arts sector can build a stronger evidence base to better demonstrate its value to policymakers, funders and partners.

The findings show that the sector doesn’t lack data – it lacks ways to connect and use the evidence that already exists. From artists’ livelihoods and studio provision to health, wellbeing, education and place-making, the report highlights the opportunity to create a shared evidence infrastructure for the visual arts.
