Beyond the Obvious
Yorkshire and the Humber Visual Arts Network is delighted to announce funding from Arts Council England's Project Grants for a second Beyond The Obvious programme. This creative sector development programme extends YVAN’s work in supporting the resilience of the visual arts infrastructure in the North.
Nourish is led by artist-led networks through co-produced sessions to invest in their own development and concluding with a public-facing output. The Dwell Awhile podcast platform will create more episodes with peer-nominated artists to talk about their practice, the conflicted term ‘resilience’, mental wellbeing and the impact of Covid-19. A Sector Snapshot publication will include 2 commissions that create an anti-racist voice to shape and advocate for racial equity in education. In partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, this work will explore an artist retention pipeline, artist network drivers, diversity and representation.
This programme of artist support will amplify creative voices through events, research and publication, strengthening regional collaboration and extending YVAN's learning & evidence of sector needs during precarious times.
We have a call out for Artist Networks to take part in our Nourish programme, three networks will receive a £1,500 bursary and a tailored support package.
