ArtBomb and YVAN

YVAN are delighted to be supporting Re-Wilding the System, an innovative and creative opportunity for artists to take time to research and explore their own practice within the context of the climate crisis.

YVAN recognise the integral connections between the impact of changing ecologies and those living in the world’s poorest areas and Brigitte Perenyi’s film makes that connection explicit by connecting the impacts between Doncaster and West Africa. David Bramwell looks much closer to home, at Hadfield Moor which as one of the country’s remaining fenlands is in a precarious position. Rebecca Smith will cycle around the street during the festival this weekend with a mobile projection unit, while utilising scientific data collected this year for a new international artwork later this year. Caroline Sinders will be inviting visitors to explore next steps after a fire decimated a community forest and how we can heal the landscape together.

YVAN have also been supporting local artists practising in the Yorkshire and Humber region in the Symbiosis project to work alongside ecologists, scientists and activists to learn new skills and question how they can develop their practice based research to embed ecological issues.

These artists will be exhibiting the results of their research during the ArtBomb festival taking place 11 to 14 August at 1 Priory Walk, Doncaster.

YVAN look forward to exploring how we can enable artists to further support the development of the ArtBomb festival to raise awareness, question and challenge how we can all contribute to finding greater ecological balance now and for the future.
