Online Artist Social - 6th March 2024

A space for artists and freelance arts workers to find social connection and share knowledge!

Based on feedback from visual artists in the region needing a space to connect and share work/knowledge, in 2023 we set up an Online Artist Social, which meets on Zoom the first Wednesday of every month. The meeting will be alternating between afternoons and evenings to suit a wider range of people. On Wednesday 6th March 2024, we’ll be meeting at 1:30pm-2:30pm.

In this session the topic is on submitting work to open exhibitions. Exhibitions are a great way to get your work noticed but what are the challenges and processes involved? Have you had any experiences that shaped your approach to getting involved in exhibitions? What working relationships were formed or networks and connections that came from it? What costs and practicalities do you need to consider?

Bring some of your own experiences or ideas and we will have a discussion around them, supporting each other through our different approaches.

This is a developing group so the space will be curated by the artists and arts workers who take part. It could provide a space to share what you are working on, request feedback on a recent work, to deliver a presentation, test out an idea or share your experiences from the creative sector to find peer support and brainstorm challenges. It is an opportunity to make connections, friendships and share resources.

If you would like to co-facilitate a meeting or suggest a topic get in touch here: info@yvan.org.uk
